Welcome to the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation's (DETSI) online grant application service for the Grassroots Environmental Grants (GEG) - Round 2: Queensland Environmental Legacy Grants.
This round provides grants of up to $25,000 (excluding GST) to eligible recipients to undertake on-ground environmental conservation activities that focus on greening and/or rewilding local community spaces, supporting preparations for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games across Queensland. A total of $1.2 million in funding is available under this round of the grant program.
Projects funded will be those that encourage community participation and must demonstrate:
- how the activities will rehabilitate or revegetate a community space; and
- the ongoing benefits to the local community and Queensland’s natural environment.
