GENERAL INFORMATION

Important - please read the following information before commencing your application online

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Welcome to the online grant application service for funding for ranger positions under the Qld Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Program (QILSRP), Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI).

This application is for a competitive application process. In past rounds, many more applications have been received than there were available funds. You are encouraged to put in an application that is as clear and complete as possible, in order to have the best chance of being short-listed for the next stage.

This is the stage 1 application form. If your application is short-listed (assessed as one of the best) by the panel then you will be invited to submit a second, more detailed application.

Please read the guidelines linked from Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger program | Environment, land and water | Queensland Government before starting with your application.

In this application you will be asked to provide information about:

  • your organisation, including how you are incorporated and contact people.
  • Your relationship with recognised Traditional Owners for the country on which you are seeking to have rangers.
  • Management priorities for country and key activities rangers would undertake.
  • The area of country (polygon or map), tenure and what management is already occurring there.
  • Your current partners.
  • Other grant projects you are or have delivered and what you have learnt in the process.
  • Funding referees
  • Your governance
  • Your access to essential infrastructure for a ranger team.

Stage 1 applications must be submitted by Wednesday 5 November 2025.

You are encouraged to press save regularly, to avoid losing work.

MOVING THROUGH THE APPLICATION

On every screen (page of the form) you will find a Form Navigation contents box, this links directly to every page of the application. Click the link to jump directly to the page you want.

You can also click 'next page' or 'previous page' on the top or bottom of each page to move forward or backward through the application.

ATTACHMENTS

You may need to upload/submit attachments to support your application. This is very simple, but requires you to have the documents saved on your computer, or on a storage device.

You need to allow enough time for each file to upload before trying to attach another file. Files can be up to 25MB each; however, we do recommend trying to keep files to a maximum of 5MB – the larger the file, the longer the upload time.

COMPLETING AN APPLICATION IN A GROUP

A number of people can work on an application using the same log in detail, as long as only one person is working at a time. Make sure you save as you go.

The person who submits the application is the point of contact for the application and will need to be available to respond to any questions. If this person leaves the organisation, it is important that someone else in the organisation has the application log in and password details.

SAVING YOUR DRAFT APPLICATION

If you wish to leave a partially completed application, press 'save' and log out. When you log back in and click on the ‘My applications’ link at the top of the screen, you will find a list of any applications you have started or submitted. You can reopen your draft application and start where you left off.

You can also download any application, whether draft or completed, as a PDF. Click on the ‘Download’ button at the bottom of the application navigation panel.

SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

You will find a ‘Review’ button at the bottom of the navigation panel. You need to review your application before you can submit it.

Once you have reviewed your application you can submit it by clicking on 'Submit' at the top of the screen or on the navigation panel.  You will not be able to submit your application until all the compulsory questions (ones marked *) are completed.

Once you have submitted your application, no further editing or uploading of support materials is possible.

When you submit your application, you will receive an automated confirmation email with a copy of your submitted application attached. This will be sent to the email you used to register.

If you do not receive a confirmation of submission email, your application has NOT been successfully submitted, and you should log back in and submit.
