ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Welcome to the Department of Environment and Science's online grant application service for the Local Government Illegal Dumping Hotspot Grants Program.

This program will seek to allocate funding to eligible projects that aim to reduce illegal dumping, focus on the prevention and intervention of illegally dumped waste entering Queensland’s environment, or gather data of illegal dumping in hotspot areas to assist with future prevention or intervention activities and strategy development. This may include technological and/or innovative solutions. 

You are required to fully read the Local Government Illegal Dumping Hotspot Grants Program Guidelines and understand the department's requirements before proceeding with your application.

ABOUT THIS FORM

This is the form for applicants seeking grant funding under the Local Government Illegal Dumping Hotspot Grants Program.

Grants for this program will be provided under two funding options (only one option can be applied for in this round of grants):

  • Funding option 1: Up to $60,000 (excluding GST) for behaviour change and hotspot prevention and intervention programs
  • Funding option 2: Up to $20,000 (excluding GST) for data collection activities

There will be specific questions relating to each stream of funding, so please ensure you correctly select which one you are applying for.

SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

You need to review your application before you submit it, via the 'Review' button at the bottom of the navigation panel. 

Any question marked with an asterisk ('*') is mandatory. Failure to answer any of these questions will stop you from being able to complete and submit your application form.

Once you have submitted your application, no further editing or uploading of supporting documents is possible. You will be required to contact the department if you wish to re-open a submitted application form.

When you submit your application form, you will receive an automated confirmation email with a copy of your submitted application attached. This will be sent to the email address that you used to register with SmartyGrants.

If you do not receive a 'confirmation of submission' email, then your application has not been received. 

ATTACHMENTS AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

You will need to upload attachments to support your application. Files can be up to 25MB each; however files up to a maximum of 5MB are recommended - the larger the file, the longer it takes to attach.

COMPLETING AN APPLICATION IN A GROUP OR TEAM

We recommend using a departmental email contact for login rather than an individual employee email, to ensure it can still be accessed if an employee is on leave.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

The Department of Environment and Science is collecting personal information in the application form to assess your application for funding and prepare a grant deed should your application be successful.

All personal information you provide in this application form, including all attachments, will be routinely provided to the following parties for assessing the application:

  • Other Queensland Government agencies to assess your application; and
  • External assessment panel members.

Where necessary, information contained in your application may also be provided to the Queensland Minister for Environment and Science and the Minister’s members of staff for reporting purposes (except for information which relates to the Department’s confidentiality obligations).

The department will seek your consent for any use or disclosure outside these specific terms.

If your application is successful, the following information will be routinely published on the Department of Environment and Science’s media platforms:

  • Your organisation’s name
  • Total amount of funding allocated
  • Project name, location and description.
